Are you heading to college in the near future? Many current high school students are burdened every day and pressured to find the perfect college. You may be wondering what kinds of students your dream school is accepting, or what you can do to get into that school. Many people assume these conversations just aren’t taking place, but they are every single day at a place called College Confidential.
College confidential is a forum where college hopefuls chat about their chances to get into their dream schools, safety schools, how to do better on the SATs, extracurricular suggestions, scholarship opportunities, and much much more.
The advantage of learning about your prospective colleges online on a forum like college confidential is it gives the advantage of objectivity. When you visit your dream school, usually you will take a tour or another type of school-sponsored event. With college confidential, or ‘CC’ as its commonly called by members, you get completely objective information from people who are applying, have applied, or have already got accepted or rejected to that school.
The best part about College Confidential, besides that great free college scholarship opportunities, is that you get to see real time acceptance data on schools. You will find out exactly who got in where, what their scores were, extra curriculars, etc.
Another common thing on collegle confidential are “chances” threads. This is where a member will make a post listing their high school resume, list of credentials, scores, etc. for other members to “chance” them on a certain school: there is a board for almost every accredited university or college imaginible, from small liberal arts universities to large state colleges, you can find out exactly what an experience at one of those schools will be like.
As you can see, College Confidential is a great opportunity for free college scholarships, learning about colleges, and finding out which colleges you have a chance to get into. This is a very knowledgable learning community, and you will be humbled very quickly by all the 2400 SATs and people whining because they got a 2360 instead of a 2400. Besides that, it’s great!

That depends a lot on your current situation in life. There are many grants in place to help people (especially low income mothers) get a college degree. The best way to get information is to talk to someone at the college/university in the Scholarship/Grant office. They have counselors at all institutions to help you find the best way to fund your education

Good luck
I would try going to FastWeb.com. Some scholarships, however, may require you to write an essay or something similar. But, it is worth it!
They will personalize/find the scholarships to fit your situation. For example, they will not show you scholarships for women if you are a man.
I used FastWeb and I got a total of 6 scholarships in the last 2 years. They are awesome!

Try fastweb.com.
There are scholarships for everyone. You will also get scholarships that are open to any of the characteristics in your profile. Example: If you put down that you are Hispanic in your profile, then Hispanic-only will display in your results in addition to scholarships that are open for everyone.
This site also has job opportunities.
